On 5/1/12, KETK received a statement from USPS spokesperson McKinney Boyd in response to this story:

As the Postal Service loses $25 million dollars a day, a national initiative includes the possible closing of plants and post offices. Presently, a congressional moratorium issued last December, prevents USPS from closing any postal facilities. Just last week, the U.S. Senate approved a proposal to discuss a proposed bill - 1789, before the full Senate. Again, the USPS was asked to halt the closing of any facilities, until a decision can be reached by Congress.

East Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert is calling out the United States Postal Service.  He says the post office used information from another part of the state to shut down the local mail processing center for the Tyler area.  It's what the congressman says is a huge oversight by the managment in the United States Postal Service.
