UPDATE: Victim in Wood County shooting death has been identified; Suspect still at large

WOOD COUNTY —
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department has been contacted by a family member of the victim in the homicide case which occurred on CR 4470 outside of Winnsboro. This confirms that the next of kin has been notified through the Mexican Consulate’s Office in Mexico.
The victim is identified as a 23 year old Hispanic male named Rogelio Elezar Mendoza-Alva.
As of this press release, the suspect, Abraham Mendoza Lopez, has not been apprehended and an outstanding warrant is still active for Lopez.
No further information will be released until Lopez is apprehended and questioned.

Authorities have issued a warrant for 25-year old Abraham Mendoz Eusebo Lopez in connection with a Wood County murder.
Lopez is described as a Hispanic man, 6' tall, 170 pounds, driving a blue and tan 2002 Ford Explorer LP BV4T768. He is suspected to be in the Houston area.
Wood County Criminal Investigation is currently working a suspicious death investigation in the 6000 block of CR 4470 in the Winnsboro area.
At Approx. 3:00 am on Monday, December 19, Wood County Deputies were notified of a shooting that left one person dead and the suspect, Abraham Mendoza Eusebo Lopez, a hispanic male, fled the scene in a blue and tan late 80’s model Ford exployer.
