Upshur County auditor resigns; County Clerk takes over position
Upshur County, Tx (Longview News-Journal) — Upshur County Auditor Janice Tucker has resigned, and County Clerk Brandy Lee has accepted the position, District Judge Lauren Parish announced Tuesday.
Parish said Tucker’s resignation took effect Monday. A reason was not immediately given for Tucker’s resignation. Tucker has been the county auditor since 2008.
“I want to publicly thank Ms. Tucker for the work she has done for the county,” Parish said. “I hate to see her leave and wish her the very best.”
Parish said Lee accepted the position and will begin working immediately as the county auditor.
“Mrs. Lee, who has a degree in accounting, is highly qualified and will be a great asset to Upshur County taxpayers,” Parish said. “We are very fortunate to have her this position.”
Lee was elected county clerk in 2010, and took office on Jan. 1, 2011. Lee will resign as county clerk.
