GILMER — Republican Party of Upshur County Chairman Ken Ambrose has come under fire again from within his party — this time for the way he arranged to hold the party’s upcoming April 21 county convention.

Madaline Barber, who is recognized by the State Republican Executive Committee (but not Ambrose) as the Upshur GOP secretary, said last week Ambrose “once again thumbed his nose at Judge Paul Banner when he publicly announced ... that he had held another illegal meeting of the Republican Executive Committee.”

Ambrose had said he conducted an online “e-meeting” of the committee to arrange the convention, which he said is set for 1 p.m. April 21 at the Gilmer Civic Center.
