Arp, Texas (KETK) — Jeb Hensarling, U.S. Congressman of the fifth district of Texas spoke out Tuesday in Tyler about President Obama's failure to enforce laws upon illegal immigrants. He says that there are 3 essential moves that must be made today.
The first, is to plug the hole in the border.
"What our border patrol needs, is the ability to access all of the property along the rio grande, which presently they cant" said Hensarling.
Second, to detain recent arrivals humanely.
"Under the House passed bill, we can detail these people on the border, have hearings within 7 days and then send them back to their countries, and their countries want them back."
And finally, send them back to their country of origin as soon as possible.
Hensarling says that the journey for illegals is dangerous for both us citizens, and immigrants.
"You're dealing with human traffickers, the same people that are involved in drug smuggling, people are shut down, there are sexual assaults, people fall off of these trains and get hurt."
The Congressman from East Texas intends to hold the president accountable for abusing his power in deferred ajudication for childhood arrival. He says because it was never passed in Congress, the action is not legal. Consequently, he says immigrants believe it is okay to enter the country illegally .
"It's an executive order where he has way over-stepped his bounds, that sends a message."
