Disagreements over how to handle Iran's nuclear ambitions appear to be causing a greater rift between the US and Israel.

Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired some harsh words about the differences in approaches towards Iran.

He criticized the international community for refusing to establish red lines for Iran.

Netanyahu also said if those red lines aren't put in place, world powers don't have "a moral right" to stop Israel from conducting a strike against Iran.

Netanyahu is visiting New York for the opening of the Fall UN session.

But there is no meeting planned with President Obama, and one journalist in Israel finds that curious.

“Take away all the pettiness and take away all the stories that everyone’s been feeding on since President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu have been in office,” says Michael Friedson of Media Line, Ltd., and simply look at the two guys as the two guys most important to the issue of whether the west is going to attack Iran. These are the guys who are going to push the button. That they wouldn’t take an opportunity to have a few minutes with each other is nonsensical.”

No word yet on whether a meeting will be arranged at the last minute.

The President is campaigning out west, and Netanyahu is still in New York.
