AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - University of Texas regents are scheduled
to meet with the school president in Austin about plans to create a
special Longhorn Network for sports television programming.

President William Powers Jr. will meet with regents behind
closed doors Wednesday morning to discuss details, with a shorter
public meeting scheduled for early afternoon.

ESPN has confirmed that it's in talks with Texas to distribute
the network, but ESPN and school officials have declined to discuss
how much it would be worth.

Fox Sports reportedly also has been interested in developing the
Longhorn Network. A Fox spokesman didn't respond to an e-mail
message seeking comment.
