Vacation Bible School begins for several East Texas churches. The summer program kicks off when school is out, so kids go from classwork to scripture. "A lot of churches have the program, we're having the program this week welcoming preschoolers and all the way up through the 5th grade," said Steven Watson, Student Pastor.

We visited The Woods Baptist Church in Tyler where they started VBS on Sunday, June 8th and will end on June 12th. VBS hours are 6PM to 8:30PM. There will be Bible Study, crafts, music, recreation and snacks each night.

While we were at worship on Sunday, kids tell us they love Vocation Bible School because they get to have fun and learn about Jesus.

Student Pastor Watson says church members put a lot of time into preparing VBS by delivering more than 500 invitations. We're told middle school and high schoolers from five school districts volunteer their time for these kids.
