Vehicle found in connection to burned remains, more information on victim

Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith tells KETK they have found a vehicle they strongly believe to be in connection to human remains which were found out on County Road 371 early Friday morning.

According to Sheriff Smith, a black white over silver 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser (the picture above is not the actual vehicle, it an example sent to KETK by the Sheriff's Office) was found set on fire on Lavender Road, just north of I-20, around 4:20 Friday afternoon.

They believe that vehicle had been driving in and around the northern part of Smith County area throughout the day, and anyone who may have seen that vehicle is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at (903) 566-6600.

Sheriff Smith said they have identified the victim has a white male in his early 50s from the Fort Worth area.

His body is still yet to be found, and the case is still under investigation.
