TYLER — Cities throughout East Texas will be honoring service men and woman tomorrow for veterans day.

What: The City of Tyler will host a special Veterans Day ceremony to unveil a Half Mile of History stone for Camp Fannin. The stones are part of the Half-Mile of History heritage trail in Downtown Tyler.

When: 11:11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009

Where: Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin, Tyler, TX

Merritt Encourages Citizens to Attend Veterans Day Service at Gregg Co. Courthouse

Longview - Rep. Tommy Merritt encourages area citizens to attend the Veterans Day Service tomorrow at 11:00 am on the Gregg County Courthouse Lawn. The service is organized by volunteers from VFW Posts 1183 and 4002.

Merritt stated, "Please attend the Veterans Day Service at the Courthouse and show your support for the victims of the Ft. Hood shootings, their families, our Veterans, and active military members across the nation and world who make tremendous sacrifices everyday to protect our freedoms."

***CHAPEL HILL***
Chapel Hill High School is hosting its annual Veterans'Day program Wednesday, November 11 at 2:20 p.m. in the Terri Procell-Bowen Theatre. The guest speaker this year is Congressman Louie Gohmert. The guests will be honored with a reception after the assembly.
