There are a lot of people still looking for work, and many of them headed to the Texas Workforce Commission Thursday to try and find a job.

Thursday's fair focused on veterans.

The initiative, called "Red, White and You" was held in 28 different locations across Texas.

The joint initiative is supported by Governor Perry, The Texas Veterans Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission to help connect veterans with employers.

Workforce Solutions East Texas off of Troup Highway had about 65 different employers looking to hire.

George Hubbard, a manager and veteran himself says employers can benefit just as much as the employee.

"You know the veteran is going to be wearing his uniform correctly ... he's not going to come to work with his shirt untucked because you learn these things when you are in the military," said Hubbard. "They are always there when they are supposed to be, otherwise they would have never made it in the military and they would have gotten out."
