The Gregg County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help in the investigation of a crime in which the victim fired at two men who had just robbed him.

According to Sheriff Maxey Cerliano, on April 16 at the Zippy J’s convenience store in the 5100 block of Estes Parkway, two men robbed the customer at a fuel pump at around 4:20 a.m.

The victim stated an unknown man with a silver colored revolver sat down next to him in the passenger seat of his vehicle and took two cell phones and a small amount of cash, then left the scene in a vehicle driven by another man.

As the bandits were leaving the parking lot, the victim grabbed his gun and fired four shots at them. It is believed that there may be one or more bullet holes in the right side or back of the suspect vehicle.

The robbers were described only as black males and their vehicle was believed to be a maroon four door Chevrolet Impala or Malibu.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator David Falco at (903) 236-8438 or Crime Stoppers at (903) 236-STOP.
