A disabled Navy veteran lost his closest companion after a car accident.

"There is nothing in the world that means more to me than him," said disabled veteran Michael Sisco.

Sisco and his service dog, Miguel, are back together again, reunited.

It was at the scene of a car accident when another vehicle collided with Sisco's car and Miguel was ejected and ran away. Sisco says at that time he immediately tried to find his companion.

"I knew I would find him," said Sisco. "I didn't care how I would find him, if he was alive or dead, I wanted to find him. I wasn't going to leave him behind that is for sure."

After searching for hours Sisco had to go to the hospital for injuries that he received in the wreck.

And that's when his sisters, along with search crews with Dekalb and Simms Fire Departments, came to the rescue.

the group located the dog about three miles away under a tree tired... but unharmed.

"Nobody could talk to him because he speaks Spanish, German and Sign Language, so he just kind of sat there," said one responder.

Sisco says he spent six years in the Navy and would not say much about his disability.

"I buried my scars a long time ago, I assume not talk about 'em," said Sisco.

But sisco can talk about how Miguel is so important to his life.

"He is my companion and when I am feeling bad or having a bad dream, I can wake up and he'll be right there then I know it is just a dream."

Sisco says he appreciates all the help received to reunite him with his dog, especially first responders.
