Volunteers work to clean Stamper Park community
Longview — About 550 volunteers swarmed a South Longview neighborhood Sunday to clean yards, mend fences, paint houses — and even build new ones.
Volunteers with Longview Habitat for Humanity, New Beginnings Baptist Church and the National Guard flooded the Stamper Park neighborhood to provide services many residents are unable to provide for themselves.
In the 600 block of Harrison Street, volunteers found Andre Hunter, a resident whose home was in dire need of a paint job.
