Warrant roundup runs through next Friday
Longview, TX — Longview is among more than 275 local governments taking part this week and next in the sixth annual Great Texas Warrant Roundup.
That means anyone with outstanding city warrants has until Friday, Feb. 24 to make arrangements to clear up traffic, parking, city ordinance, penal code and higher charge warrants or face jail time.
After Friday, said Sgt. Jack Lanier of the Longview Police Department, officers will be out rounding up anyone with outstanding warrants — and hauling them to the Gregg County Jail. Taking care of the outstanding warrants prior to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 24 could mean not spending the night in jail, the city said.
