East Texans didn't have to worry too much about water damage last year, but if you don't take those precautions this year, it could cost you later this summer.

Experts tell KETK to start looking for visible water damage now, because the longer you wait, the more expensive the repairs.

Be sure to remove any standing water, especially if the wood is untreated because it will soften the wood.

And the settling water can also start to mold your outdoor furniture and deck, causing discoloration.

But once you start seeing these signs, it may be too late, and you could already be in for some monstrous repair costs, or complete replacements.
