In one Texas community people say they are concerned about a mysterious animal that's been spotted in the area. Some are calling it the "Chupacabra", but before you roll your eyes, there may be a legitimate explanation for this mythical animal, Keith Garvin has the details.

Claude Griffin, Animal Control Expert, "You got a raccoon on one side. He's running from him. He's running from him."

These paw prints along the Buffalo Bayou in the Memorial area reveal the the him could be the this in these photos. They were snapped last Sunday in the backyard of these gated condos near Gessner and Dolliver. It was the third sighting of the animal in just the past 11 days. At least one man is convinced it could be the legendary Chupacabra.

Neighbor, "Big long pointy ears. Long tail had no skin, or no fur, but you could see splotches of gray.

Scott has seen the animal four times, each instance right outside his back door. After seeing the photos, a trapper from Ohio visited, then sent Black this cage to try to capture it. We brought in local animal control expert Claude Griffin to asses the situation, "Look how long that leg is right there."

Griffin says while many will pass off the animal as a coyote, the physical characteristics appear to be a possible combination of several canine species from a coyote to domesticated breed to Dingo. He's seen it before in the Houston area, which has a higher number of exotic pet owners than many people realize, "People are actually inbreeding the animals and letting them go and claiming that they're catching them. They are practicing the perfection of in-breeding."

From the looks of it the poor thing is starving and has the mange, it needs to be put down to end its suffering. Your right dave it is a coyote.

That's a coyote with the mange. If it's out in day light like that it probably has parvo or rabies also. I hope somebody shoots it before it hurts someone.
