Jindal: "It's a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh and Phil Robertson gets suspended."

"The Duck Commander." and patriarch of the Robertson family, Phil Robertson, as well as Louisiana governor, republican, Bobby Jindal, have released statements after it was announced, Wednesday, Robertson would be suspended indefinitely from A&E's number one show, "Duck Dynasty."

According to A&E, Robertson was suspended from the show for making "anti-gay" comments in a one-on-one interview he did with GQ Magazine for their January 2014 issue.

When asked what what he believed was sinful, Robertson allegedly responded:

"Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."

The suspension caused an uproar from fans of the hit show who are blaming A&E's discipline of Robertson on "political correctness," instead of the network protecting the freedom of speech by Americans.

Jindal released the following statement after learning one of the most beloved stars in America has been snubbed by the network:

"Phil Robertson and his family are great citizens of the state of Louisiana. The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with. I don't agree with quite a bit of stuff I read in magazine interviews or see on TV. In fact, come to think of it, I find a good bit of it offensive. But, I also acknowledge that this is a free country and everyone is entitled to express their views. In fact, I remember when TV networks believed in the First Amendment. It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh and Phil Robertson gets suspended."

Robertson, defending himself, issued a statement, as well:

"I myself am a product of the '60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together," he says. "However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other."

The gun-toting granddaughter of Robertson, Sadie, responded to the news of her grandfather's suspension via Twitter:

Season five of "Duck Dynasty" is set to premiere January 15, 2014.  According to A&E, its fourth season premiere, in August, drew nearly 12 million viewers to become the number one nonfiction series telecast in cable history.

Further proof that this fool is a charlatan masquerading as a born-again Christian, check out "phil robertson speech sportsman's ministry Georgia 2009" to see and hear for yourselves his suggestions about marrying young girls, 15 or 16 years old. Anyone who has the gall to support this video, to say that ol' phil was actually kidding, needs to know that he, himself, practiced what he was preaching to the men at that conference (kay was 15 when they married)...and it was NOT a room full of boys!

I really wish people would stop saying that this is a Freedom of Speech thing... the television and its fellow entertainment industries have a different set of rules. Phil is effectively an employee of the A & E Network and has signed a contract regarding his stance within the company. With this signature Mr. Robertson has consented to reflecting on the A & E Network- this means anything he says or does that gies against company outlook can cause the contract thereby the series to be null & void

I am curious to not who speaks out against Phil but more to who comes to his defense. Where are the true Bible believing Christians, politicians, pastors. Phil's choice of words could have been better but his thoughts were clear and not of hate. He was asked a question and he gave an answer. I am curious who would be fighting the battle if the major recording companies had cancelled a certain singers contract because of who she might have offended. My GOD bless you Phil.

Christianity is under attack and this is proof. He has the right to speak his opinion without repercussion . If he were gay this would not even make the news. This shows how our society has degenerated and our constitutional rights are being chipped away.

"He has the right to speak his opinion without repercussion"

The first amendment only protects you from repercussions from our government. It does NOT nor should it prevent an action, any action from private individuals. All speech has consequences and if Robertson isn't wise enough to know that then maybe his backwoods opinions are merely a portion of his biased and self righteous mind set.

Folks, re-read ol' phil's first italicized paragraph above...tell me if you think this is the way any Christian should voice his opinion on absolutely anything...if you agree that these filthy words are okay to say, let alone have printed in a widely-distributed magazine, then you are as sick as this dare he think these words, let alone say them to a writer knowing full well that they will be do all you religious folks feel about ol' phil's words now?

Everyone has forgotten one extremely important issue in all of this...ol' phil is an employee of A&E...he gets his hefty paycheck from that matter his "right" to free speech, they certainly have the right to censure him for bringing the firestorm he's started by opening his big mouth, spouting garbage (explicit sexual practices that are abhorrent to anyone's sensibilities!), and trotting out his personal religious beliefs in a national forum. You may not be offended, but I am!!

So you believe in censoring peoples rights? You are offended by the truth? You support giving rights to perverts? You are a prime example of what is wrong with this country. No matter how crude Phil was he is still right.

We are big fans of the show and we support the family thru this ridiculous drama playing out. I'm a black American and I wasn't offended by what he said about picking cotton along side blacks. So what! Are we that small minded? I have the same beliefs about what the Bible says. Doesn't mean I dislike gays only choose to live my life believing what I choose to believe. Duck Dynasty family u r in our prayers and stand strong as a family and i promise u will get thru this madness.

The problem with the PC crowd seems to be limited math skills, and attempt to impose secular humanism on the majority.
1st the majority of Americans identify themselves as christian 77% (231 million out of 300 million).
2nd the show has about 11 million viewers.
3rd According to a Gallup poll about 3.4% of the population is gay (10 million).

Yeah limited math skills.

Duck Dynasty needs to leave A&E and Phil Robertson needs to file a law suit to like a billion or more. I would love to be on that jury.

All Phil said was he believes they are sinners. He never said they should die, or be jailed, or thrown out, or any violence done to them (or even discrimination.)

Strange how liberals are so ready to lynch those who do not toe their liberal line. Almost like they were hard core fascist or something.

He's just living by the Bible! Like most should do! I stand up for him and applaud him!

I say A&E needs to be boycotted. Phil Robertson is absolutely correct. We should love everyone and yes it does specifically say that in the Bible. Robertson Family, you rock. Prayers and love for ya.

I agree Momma! The 231 one million people in the US who identify themselves as Christian should suspend viewing of A&E, until A&E capitulates. When "money god" leaves them they'll probably get a clue.

Just want to say one thing: A&E (I believe is the one) that airs Dog the Bounty Hunter...I NEVER watch his show and never will because from PERSONAL experience I know him to be a liar and a jerk. But that is my opinion and probably will not affect anyone else....but it is MY OPINION and I should have the right to say it!!!

Political Correctness is one of the biggest problems in this country. If you say Merry Christmas, someone gets offended, because Phil chose to speak what he believes, a lot of people got offended. If you got offended by what was said, maybe you should not read anything in print, or watch any T.V. Grow up people...............

So you all are saying it is OK to call African Americans the "N" word and Hispanics the "Sp" word or the handicapped retard?????????????? Before you are ready to pass judgment on some one else, you really need to tend to your own house and your own issue's. We are who we are made to be no matter how hard we fight so that we can be deemed socially acceptable, since religion is what guides everyone's hate crimes and justifies why we send our men and women to die in wars.

Coming from someone who chose to like both men and women I don't fill like what he said should afend anyone if u took it that way I fill like u must be confused about yourself Phil I love yalls show and I fill like if we had more family s like yalls ppl would love all ppl no matter what sex they chose to be with

I want to see how the rest of the family gathers around Phil. If they are the Christian family they portray They will tell A&E where to go. If they love money more than the Word of God they will continue the show.

Phil should be able to speak as he feels, it is freedom of speech or at least we are suppose to have.. I think it is only hurting A & E for suspending him, look how much they have made them.. A number one show and you want to take one person, an important member from the show.. Pretty stupid on their part
