SPAM celebrates its 75th birthday Thursday!

Earlier this year, the processed meat product rolled out its first spokes-character, Sir Can A-Lot.

And later this month, SPAM-maker Hormel will host a birthday bash in the spiced ham's honor. The Temptations are expected to headline the event.

SPAM has a rich cultural history. It was a staple for World War Two troops, it has been featured in a Monty Python sketch and it even has its own museum.

Hormel turns out 110 million pounds of SPAM in 12 varieties per year.
