(KPRC) — A former waitress at a trendy new restaurant in the Galleria area of Houston is now under investigation by police after allegedly drugging a customer and stealing her credit cards.
Dish Society is a trendy new restaurant opened only six months. Now, the Houston Police are investigating a waitress who worked here. She's accused of stealing two customers' credit cards. One of the customers claims, before the theft, she was slipped something in her drink, something that made her dizzy and vomit.
Police said the customers are two women who were dining here just last week. After leaving Dish Society, one of them was notified by her bank about fraudulent charges.
According to investigators, the waitress stole the cards, then went on a spending spree with stops at Target and IHOP. The restaurant owner tells KPRC the waitress has been fired, and he notified police as soon as he learned about the incident.
Other customers who frequent here were stunned to hear the news.
Houston Police said the customer who claimed she was drugged did go to the emergency room to be checked out. It's unclear what, if anything, was in her system.
The case is still under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
