TYLER, TX (KETK) - — On Wednesday, while meeting at the White House with gun control advocates and media, Vice President Joe Biden suggested the president could make executive orders concerning firearms in America.

"The president using executive orders to implement gun control that has not been passed by Congress and certainly does not pass the test of constitutional scrutiny, would be a huge blow to the democracy" said Congressman Louie Gohmert."

Robert Quates, with Lock and Load in Tyler, is concerned about possible sanctions on assault rifles.

"The rifle scares people because they don't know what it is."

According to Congressman Gohmert, the president has implemented a "Can't Wait " policy when it comes to firearm regulation.

"What he is saying, that if i can't get congress to change the laws, the way it's already been passed constitutionally by both houses, and signed into law by another president, i will speak, or write new laws into being." said Gohmert.

Congressman Gohmert says he is open to any firearm proposal that does not infringe on law abiding citizens rights.

"Hopefully the recommendations will he for the president to work with congress and not to violate the constitution."

But there are many here who doubt that will be the case.

"I don't see them listening to the actual majority of the public" said Quates.
