White Oak ISD may have to deal with a financial deficit this upcoming school year.

District employees tell us there are some initial problems with their numbers but that it's completely normal.

Right now they're looking at a budget of between 11 and 12 million dollars for the 2014-15 school year.

The deficit could run between $150 and $700-thousand.

It won't be finalized for several weeks and the outcome will largely depend on which projects they decide to move forward on.

Each year the district creates the budget based on overestimates of what they feel their expenses will be.

Superintendent Michael Gilbert assures us that any financial shortages that may happen will be fixed by the end of the year.

The board will be holding a public meeting at 6 PM on August 25th to answer questions before they approve the finale budget.
