Whitehouse police release name of woman killed in crash
WHITEHOUSE — KETK has confirmed that Linda Jean Owens, who was a passenger in the blue Dodge, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her husband, James Milton Owens, was driving at the time.
The red Pontiac Grand AM driver, Eulacio Milan Garcia from Tyler, was arrested this morning at a local hospital for intoxicated manslaughter.
He has been booked in Smith County Jail on four hundred thousand dollars bond.
KETK news has just confirmed with the Whitehouse Police Department that an accident overnight, sent three to the hospital and killed one. Lt. Darryl McCartney tells KETK at around 6:21 am Saturday morning, there was a major traffic accident in Whitehouse involving two vehicles. According to Lt. McCartney a Dodge truck was traveling North on Highway 110 when another car which was traveling southbound, crossed over onto the northbound lane. This resulted in a head on collision, that killed one woman, and sent three others to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Whitehouse police are still investigating if alcohol could have been a factor in that crash.
