Smith county--  Kimberly Cargill of Whitehouse is arrested for capital murder this morning.

On June 19th, Cherry Walker's body was found only six miles from  Cargill's home in Whitehouse.  This along with several other pieces of evidence, lead to her arrest today.

District Attorney Matt Bingham says Walker was a potential witness in a trial against Cargill for a child custody hearing.  Walker was killed the day after she was given the subpeona.  Bingham says the murder of a potential witness makes the crime capital murder.

Sheriffs say they knew they had their suspect from the arrest warrant.  In it, it lists several pieces of evidence.  One witness says she saw two cars driving away from the crime scene.  One car looked like Cargill's.  Also, detectives found a container next to Walker's body with DNA tying Cargill to the murder.

Cargill's bond is set for $1 million. She already has a $500,000 given to her for a previous charge regarding injury to a child.

The investigation is still ongoing.
