AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a wildfire burned about 900 acres of West Texas grasslands before firefighters were able to contain it.

The fire was under control by Monday afternoon in Amarillo.

Dozens of firefighters battled the blaze for more than three hours.

No injuries were reported. Two homes were threatened but not burned.

Oldham County Sheriff David Medlin says wind gusts of up to 30 mph fanned the flames and helped the fire quickly spread across pasture land in Oldham and Deaf Smith counties.
