Firefighters suspect childen playing with matches started blaze

Cherokee County—

A building near Jacksonville is no more after a grass fire spread through several acres.

It happened along Highway 79, West of Jacksonville near Ironton.

Smoke was so thick.. firefighters were forced to close a portion of that highway.

Firefighters say they're still assessing damage, but think children playing with matches started the fire.

High winds across East Texas helped fuel those flames.
