East Texas (KETK) — Anderson County and most of the other counties in the region are under a winter storm watch that will be in effect Sunday afternoon through midday Monday.

As a low pressure area passes to our south Sunday night a lot o fmoisture will be pushed into the area with one to two inches of likely rain.
The cold front that passed through the area yesterday has introduced a polar air mass that means low temperatures on Monday morning will be close to freezing around Palestine and will give us a chance of sleet and freezing rain across the area.
With the clouds and precipitation, temperatures will not warm much during the day on Monday, so watch the system and conditions with risk of hazardous travel on the roads Monday.
There is also a flood warning for the Neches River. Many other creeks and streams are out of their banks across the region.
