Woman charged in boy's death
HOUSTON (AP) - A family acquaintance has been charged with
capital murder in the death of a 12-year-old Houston boy whose
badly burned body was found in a ditch.
Forty-four-year-old Mona Yvette Nelson was arrested Wednesday.
She remained in jail Thursday on no bond. Court records did not
list an attorney.
Police say Jonathan Foster was kidnapped from his home on
Christmas Eve before being killed and burned.
Houston police spokesman Kese Smith tells the Houston Chronicle
that Nelson is the only suspect.
Smith says Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences on
Wednesday identified the body found the day before as Foster's.
Police homicide investigator Mike Miller says investigators are
still trying to determine a motive.
