JACKSONVILLE-A woman charged with the purchase or sale of a child has reached a plea agreement with the Cherokee County District Attorney's office.

In 1992 Debra Glover,40, was arrested for trying to sell her baby. Police tell us after Glover was arrested initially for the crime she posted bail and fled the county.

For 17 years she was able to stay under the radar by using a series of aliases, police said. But late last year her luck ran out when she was pulled over in Robertson County and hauled back to Cherokee County and arrested.

Cherokee County Assistant District Attorney Rachel Patton told the Jacksonville Daily Progress that Glover recently confessed to the crime in exchange for a three-year prison sentence.

"When the detectives initially started looking into this, I believe they found some indication that she had done this previously in Longview and up in the Mt. Pleasant area," Assistant Chief for the Jacksonville Police Department, John Page told us. "How many children were involved if any I don't know."

Police also told us during her years on the run, Glover was also wanted for two pending charges in Durham County, N.C. Authorities in North Carolina still have to decide in they are going to extradite Glover back to their state to serve more time.

Glover is being held right now in the Cherokee County Jail.
