Woman in wheelchair dies in Dallas hit-and-run

DALLAS — Police say a 57-year-old woman in a motorized wheelchair died in a hit-and-run accident when a vehicle struck her while she was crossing a Dallas street.
Police say they were searching for the driver after the incident around 3 a.m. Thursday. Authorities aren't releasing the victim's name pending notification of kin.
In a news release, police said the woman was thrown 10 feet by the impact, hit her head on the curb and died at the scene from blunt force trauma.
Witnesses told police they heard what sounded like an accident and found the woman on the ground when they went outside.
