Smith County-- One Smith County woman is found dead on Sunday afternoon.  Her body was found by a creek bed behind her house underneath a lawn mower.

The Smith County Sheriff's Department says 40-year-old Anjanette Herring was found at a residence off of County Road 26.  Lieutenant Tony Dana says although tractor accidents are common, this is the first time he can recall a lawn mower turning over.

Her husband, Jerry Herring, tells deputies Mrs. Herring was mowing an overgrown trail down to the creek.  He says he had turned around to do something else when the incident occurred.

The Sheriff's Department says the case is still an open investigation, but all indicators point to it being an accident.  They cannot make that conclusion until the autopsy is complete.

The funeral is being held Thursday at ten.

This crime really needs to be investigated to the fullest. Her husband did not act right at the time of death or at the funeral . He has a history of violence towards his previous wife . He has made several comments not rite of a moarning husband. Anjanette deserves justice and I do not believe it was a accident

I heard the autopsy showed strangulation and her husband was arrested. His behavior on facebook right after her death made me suspicious ..she was such a sweet soul... Pray for her children as they go through all this ...
