Collision happened Thursday in West Harris Co.

Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the driver of a pickup who fled after fatally striking a woman Thursday night in west Harris County, officials said.

The woman was walking along Mason near Merrymount about 6:30 p.m. when she was hit by a green Ford F-150 truck, Harris County sheriff’s deputies said.

The woman, believed to be in her mid-60s, was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
