Lufkin officials need the public's help identifying two suspects involved in the fraudulent passing of a stolen check at a Lufkin-area convenience store.

Early in October, two women used a stolen check to purchase two cartons of cigarettes and a package of condoms from a convenience store located on North Raguet Street in Lufkin.

The women wrote the check for more than the purchase price of the items, and they received cash back from the store.

Security video cameras at the store captured images of the suspects and their vehicle as they committed the crime. The video is posted at the top of this story.

The surveillance video shows that the suspects are heavy-set black females, one wearing a yellow, spaghetti-strap tank top and white pants and the other wearing a grey, jogging suit-type jacket and white shorts.

They were driving what appears to be a dark-colored, two-door car, possibly a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The image shown below was taken from the store's security video and shows the suspects communicating through facial expressions prior to the suspect in the grey jacket passing the stolen check.

If you can identify either suspect, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.

You never have to give your name and Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest related to this crime.
