HAMBURG, Germany (AP) - Traces of polonium-210 are now showing
up in Germany.
German authorities say tests have found traces of the rare
radioactive substance at an apartment visited by a contact of
poisoned ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko.
Prosecutors say they're investigating the Dmitry Kovtun on
suspicion of improper handling of radioactive material.
Investigators say the Russian businessman visited his ex-wife's
Hamburg apartment the night before heading to London, where he met
the former spy on the day he became ill.
Litvinenko was killed by polonium-210. German authorities say
traces of that were found in the Hamburg apartment.
The Russian businessman is now reportedly being treated in
Moscow for symptoms of radiation poisoning.
