Rick Perry announces Presidential bid...what do East Texans think?

Well we all knew it was coming...but this morning, Governor Rick Perry announced his Presidential run during a speech in South Carolina.

Perry told the crowd he would reduce taxes and ease government regulations.

Saying he will try to make Washington as 'inconsequential' to American's lives as possible.

He also accused President Obama's administration of over-spending.

Smith County Republican Party Chairman Ashton Oravetz tells KETK he's excited about Perry's run - but his achiles heel will be immigration.

"He hasn't done much, he's let this sanctuary cities bill die, he's one of the first ones to get in state tuition for illegals and that sort of thing.  So he talks about it but he hasn't done much...but he will be a formidable candidate," Oravetz said.

We also spoke with Representative Leo Berman today who told KETK this:

"I think it's great for Texas.  Because Rick Perry can win the Presidency and rid us of the entire Obama administration which has shown animosity toward Texas because of President Obama's loss in Texas during the last election," Berman said.

And he could not even announce in Texas..shows who he is loyal to....himself...what kind of crap is that?

Anybody keeping-up with the election must now realize that we do not elect a president, rather we are allowed to make a selection from a list of candidates presented by the government machine. Party politics are but those wedge issues created by the media to immitate a true democratic process. Proof is Dr. Ron Paul. Our nations problems go much deeper than a bad economy.
