Young adults have a worse medical record than their parents

A medical report from Europe states younger adults are taking years off their life.

What's contributing to this?

Young adults may have a worse medical record than their mom or dad or maybe even grandparents.

KETK showed this research to a doctor, he says he's not surprised.

The European Journal of Preventive Cardiology reports, young adults are 15 years older than their parents and even grandparents were at the same age.

Dr. Bryan Lowery at Trinity Clinic Family Medicine says, he believes it.

"I'd say my patients in their 80s and 90s are probably healthier than the baby boomers to a degree because they ate more fresh food, they ate off their farms, " they exercised, they worked in manufacturing jobs and they just didn't have computers and TV's that made them sedentary," says Dr. Bryan Lowery.

The study shows, young adults are more likely to suffer from poor health, diabetes and high blood pressure.

Reports say, men in their 30s were 20% more likely to be overweight, and women in their 20s are twice as likely to be obese than in previous generations.

Lowery says, young adults need to change the way they live their life.
