Macedonia Baptist Church in Longview held a Senior Valentine Luncheon on Sunday. “ We do this every year, we always serve the seniors and it’s fun,” said Kylie Battles, young hostess.

Young girls from the church wanted to so something special for seniors for Valentine’s Day, after prayer they served pasta, salad, sweet tea and delicious desserts.

“It means a lot to think that they’re wanting to serve the senior citizens,” said Barbara Wates of Longview.

The girls made place mats with Valentine’s notes and they were signed with love. Tables were filled with cut out hearts and chocolate kisses. “We just want to give back for all that they’ve done for us, “ said Bailey Perkins, young hostess.

Folks tell us the lunch was a sweet surprise. “We love to be here and have the fellowship, the Christian fellowship, and these little girls are so wonderful and so sweet, they just cannot do enough for us, “ said Jimmy Simmons of Longview.

Simmons says moments like this make you think about how blessed we are to have the gift of love. “Love for our fellow man, love for our wives and our children and love for our country and a time to give thanks to the Lord for all of our many blessings on such a wonderful day.
