Zavalla, TX — The city of Zavalla will be looking for a new police chief after firing chief Jim Hodges in a meeting Monday night, according to city Mayor Greg Fletcher.

Fletcher said a special meeting was called Monday night in which the council reviewed complaints against Hodges, who only held the position for two months.

“After reviewing the complaints, we decided to terminate him and start fresh,” Fletcher said. “Mr. Hodges was a good police officer and good man, but we’ve decided to go in a different direction.”

When asked about the nature of the complaints, Fletcher said he couldn’t go into the details.
