George Zimmerman, the man accused of shooting unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, was released from a jail in central Florida early Monday morning.

Around midnight Zimmerman walked out of the Seminole County Jail, staring straight ahead and ignoring photographers as he stepped into a waiting SUV and drove away.

In the day's leading up to his release on $150,000 bail, his attorney would only say that Zimmerman will be in a secure and secret location, likely outside of Florida.

"I think there is a lot of emotion wrapped around the case and we 're worried that some of those emotions are still negative that that may play out against George," said Mark O'Mara.

Trayvon Martin's parents, who had been so vocal before Zimmerman's arrest, have remained silent since Friday's bond hearing.

"They will have to live with the judge's decision they're just praying now and hoping that his freedom is temporary because the damage that he has done to them is permanent," said Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump.

Zimmerman left the jail with a GPS monitoring bracelet that provides immediate, real-time information on where he is staying.

His attorneys have said there are a half dozen secret locations they are considering.

Probation officers say the GPS monitoring device will work any where in the country.

Another key figure in the Trayvon Martin case is also on the move as well.

Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, who had temporarily stepped-away from his post, announced his permanent resignation Monday afternoon.
