Your freedom to eat smoke free is not in danger. Just go to an establishment that is non-smoking. That is what I do. Liberty is what is under assault, not freedom. We do not allow people to urinate in public due to decency laws, not health. However, I understand your point. What you are doing is imposing your will upon private property. That property may invite the public in, but it does not force the public in. You do have the right to decline. As soon as we accept the role of government as a "parent figure" then it is only a matter of time before it will use this justification for other legislation. Remember Ron, which the idea of American law was to protect liberty which is not the same as freedom. A free society is not really free if it is ruled by the majority. I am very strict when it comes to the laws that protect individuals from each other and from government; however people should be allowed to make their own choice when it comes to their own life, liberty and property, and smoking establishments do not interfere with that right. It is a foreseen danger and you have the right to decline patronage to that place. Remember Ron that city streets are public property, but restaurants are private.
