This year he has had 6 vacation trips for a total of 32 days (not all full days). I think the only President to admit to short work days was President Regan. Most work many more hours than a 40 hour week, and probably feel lucky if they get two days off in a row for a weekend with their families.
The reason a President's vacation is so expensive is because of security. That's something the American people pay to secure the safety of our leaders.
