First of all let me apologize for your bad experience. During the Christmas and Thanksgiving season we get over 100 calls and applications each day, so unfortunately, that means some fall through the cracks. We do try to get back to everyone though...it is not always as soon as we would like it to be however. We would LOVE to have you and your wife volunteer. Please call 903-592-4361 and ask for Cindy Bell. Just so you are aware, bell ringers are not expected to stand for an extended period of time-a lot of people bring chairs or stools and ring the bell, which is completely welcomed. Thank you for your interest in volunteering...we truly are in desperate need.
Also, 89 cents of every dollar go directly to funding our programs rather than the 80 cents quoted in the news story above.
