Back in the day when a gas war was a competetive pricing battle between neighboring gas stations and not something our government was involved with in some far away desert, and re-refined oil was as ecofriendly as we had to be; when a new car cost forty-five hundred dollars and a carport was sufficient for your car at home, a garage was where you took your car to get it repaired, the EPA was busy closing down the steel mills up north somewhere and nobody could see the slippery slope we were on.
