Although Charlie Wilson was probably a great guy, the role the U.S. (particularly the CIA) played in the Mujahedeen War actually helped START Al-Quaida in the first place. According to an article written in TIME magazine in 2003 (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,450997-2,00.html), "the CIA began one of its longest and most expensive covert operations, supplying billions of dollars in arms to a collection of Afghan guerrillas fighting the Soviets....Among the rebel recipients of U.S. arms: OSAMA BIN LADEN." Now, who carried out 9/11, again??? It's time people did their research and figured out that the "war on terror" is a complete and utter JOKE. http://www.prisonplanet.com/archive_war_on_terror.html
