I agree that prayer before, during or after anything is an individual's right...but let's suppose that there is a football player who is not a Christian...who worships another way, i.e., a Jew, Muslim, or even one who does not believe in Baptist/Methodist/Presbyterian, etc. theology. Out of respect for the beliefs of others, a moment of silence for players and those in the stands is more appropriate. NO ONE is denying anyone their belief system utilizing a silent moment.
