My family has had to rely on food stamps at one time. Being white, married, it took almost 8 wks to get started while a hispanic women walked out the day she came in to apply with a temperary card on no more proof than her word. And tell them Fri. you start a job Mon. and by Wed. your benefits are cut or cancelled even though it may be 2-3 wks before your first paycheck. We're not against helping those in need, but these programs are about bldg a permenant dependant on gov't class.
