Republicans have compromised away their principles under the guise of "protecting society" or "Christian values." Election politics are toxic and will cause less principled candidates to say ANYTHING to get elected. Each election is an auction, and goes to the whomever promises the biggest favors to the biggest groups. Both sides do it, both old parties are responsible for this corrupt system.
