Overpopulation is the problem. Will yet another shelter solve this problem? Go to www.petfinder.com, click on animal shelters by distance, put in Tyler, TX, and see all the rescue groups and shelters around the area. Education is needed for the public on what to do with a pet that is owned or found, and we have 5 low cost spay/neuter programs around us that some of the public is still unaware of. Grant money can also provide more assistance for low income families for spays/neuters.
