Olympic diver Kelci Bryant looks to medal this summer
Olympic diver, Kelci Bryant looks to medal in this summer’s London Olympics. Bryant barely missed medaling in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Olympic diving is subjective in nature. A beautiful dive can sometimes fall short of an Olympic Judge’s fastidious standards.
“It was a little heart breaking being tied for third going into the final dive and end up missing a medal by two points”, Bryant said.
As with many Olympic competitors, Bryant’s relentless work ethic has put her in contention for a spot on the three-meter springboard, and three-meter snychro team.
Bryant’s former collegiate coach, Wenbo Chen feels she is primed to compete for a medal.
“This time I think she’s ready to win a medal, not just go to the games.”
Chen has coached Bryant since she was a kid in Indiana, and when he began his job at The University of Minnesota, she followed. The coach and athlete pair excelled during her collegiate stint, winning two NCAA titles, and going undefeated in the Big 10 Conference.
Byrant looks to emulate her previous success in next month’s Olympic trials at Washington State. The trials run from June 17th through June 24th.
