Perry’s gaffe being used to defend Romney

Everyone remembers Gov. Rick Perry’s “oops,” but a Mitt Romney adviser drew attention this morning to the presumptive Republican nominee’s role in the moment-- “EPA,” Romney suggested as the third category Perry was planning to cut – a suggestion met with applause and laughter from the audience.
The attention to the blunder – which the Perry campaign never recovered from – is coming after a Washington Post story describing a school-aged Romney tackling a gay student to the floor and snipping off his hair. The incident became national news yesterday against the backdrop of President Barack Obama’s Wednesday announcement that he believes same-sex marriage should be legal.
